Chappelle-Nadal for doing a fantastic job. Mr. Dockett said Representative Chappelle- <br />Nadal had given a speedy response in terms of the flood and has agreed to and is <br />doing, by helping people out with their personal losses as lawn mowers, wash machines <br />etc . He stated that she assigned staff to assist in making claims. The bottom line is <br />the citizens need the City, the County, the State and the Federal Government to work in <br />a more judicial manner with a resolution. Mr. Dockett stated the flood victims can <br />advocate for themselves and they want an extension on the thirty day limitation. He <br />said Representative Chappelle-Nadel hit it on the nose by assisting the flood victims <br />with replacing some personal items, unit FEMA comes through. <br />Frank Enger, 1054 Raisher Dr <br />Mr. Enger spoke in behalf of all who could not make it, those who did not read the <br />newspaper or do email. He stated that he specifically bought a house not in the flood <br />plane. He was told when he called MSD that there would be some enumeration but it <br />did not happen. <br />Rick Hawkins, 6831 Raymond <br />Mr. Hawkins stated that there are many that do not have a computer and cannot do <br />email. He mentioned that MSD said their insurance cost was merged into everyone <br />bills, and stated that MSD did not send him a packet but did send him a bill. He was <br />confused by MSD’s statement when they said they did not own River DesPeres to the <br />south but did take care of the backups from this area. He felt MSD should always be <br />prepared for any unusual events. Mr. Hawkins said that if the property owners do own <br />River DesPeres they would like to give it back. He asked MSD how property owners <br />were to monitor and take care of the River DesPeres that adjoined their property. Mr. <br />Hawkins said that MSD was unprepared; by saying it was an oversight. <br />Allen McKellar, 7911 Amherst Ave <br />Mr. McKellar asked MSD previous to the flood, if backup in his house, previous to the <br />last flood, was caused from the sewer blockage his neighbors were experiencing. He <br />also wanted to verify that there was not a time limit on him, since he had already <br />submitted a claim to MSD. <br />Ester Moore, 1216 Westover <br />Ms. Moore stated that she has been out of her house since the flooding and received a <br />denial letter saying it was overland flooding.She said there is no way you can receive <br />media advice of the time limitation, if they are not in their home. Ms. Moore felt if MSD <br />could not fix the creek, they need to buy the homes out. <br />Joseph Jackson, 7335 Marilyn Ln <br />Mr. Jackson stated the flood victims needed some kind of resolutions from all of the <br />complaints. MSD stated that all they needed was our name but two days after giving <br />MSD his name he received a rejection letter without even inspecting his house. <br />Barbara Smith, 1050 Groby Rd <br />Ms. Smith said she had filed her claim on time but received a rejection letter stating her <br />flooding was due to overland flooding. She stated she lives on the high end of the <br />street and the only water coming in her house was from the sewer. MSD told her she <br />would have to prove it. MSD sent her a letter stating that it was overland flooding. <br /> <br />
