PM. The presentation is a culmination of the community engagement process over the <br />last several months. We strongly urge you to attend one of these meetings to hear the <br />draft recommendations. These meetings will provide the final community forums on <br />topics ranging from capital improvements and tax increases to student achievement and <br />the District’s financial health. <br />Junior Golf Program <br />The Parks and Recreation Department developed a in full <br />st <br />partnership and funding with 1 Tee and the University City Parks Foundation. We are <br />awaiting word from the school district about their participation. The program is a year- <br />round instructional and recreational youth golf program for elementary and middle <br />school-aged children. An outline of the objectives is attached. More information to the <br />public will be provided in the 2009 Summer Recreation Guide. <br />towing contract <br />We are in the process of reviewing the with Hartman’s Standard <br />Service, Inc. We have requested information from other municipalities in order to <br />compare contract terms. We are still awaiting responses, but expect to have an <br />analysis shortly. Many municipalities operate without a contract. We have been <br />operating under an annually renewed contract so far, atmuch lower rates based on <br />comparisons to neighboring communities. We will have a revised contract for your <br />consideration shortly. <br />th <br />A reminder that on Thursday, November 20 at 4 pm is the presentation by Washington <br />University Architecture and Business School and St. Louis University Law School <br />green design for five homes on the test block <br />students of the (6600 block of Bartmer <br />and Crest) we acquired recently. The challenge was to design a LEED® certified- <br />Platinum green home for these small lots with 2 to 3 bedrooms with a price point under <br />$200,000. The team has been working all fall on the project and will likely have urban <br />design ideas for the area as well. The presentation will be held at Givens Hall in the <br />Kemp Auditorium on the Danforth Campus. Givens Hall is at Hoyt Drive and Forsythe. <br />If you would like a parking pass, please let me know so I can arrange to get one for you. <br />The next St. Louis County League meeting will be held at 7:30 PM on Thursday, <br />November 20 at the Normandy City Hall, 7700 Natural Bridge Road. The program will <br />Election Impacts, <br />includeThe National and State Perspective; Professor Terry Jones <br />will provide an analysis of the November 4 election outcomes and what the impacts may <br />be on public policy for both the U.S. and Missouri. The second portion of the program will <br />MSD Impervious Surface Charge <br />include discussion of the . Earlier this year voters <br />approved a new impervious surface charge to provide additional funding for stormwater <br />control.
