To: Honorable Mayor Adams and City Council <br />From: Julie Feier, City Manager <br />Date: January 26, 2009 <br />Subject: City Manager’s Report <br /> <br />1. <br />Mike WilliamsofHochschild-Bloom & Co. will provide an overview of their <br />independent audit report <br />for the City’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008. <br />Audit information distributed in the January 16 weekly packet. <br />2. <br />University City School District Superintendent Joylynn Wilsonwill update <br /> District’s Community Engagement Process. <br />the Council on the <br />3.Parks Master Plan <br /> Nancy MacCartney will review the City’s distributed for <br />your review in the December 12 weekly. After a 12-month process, the <br />Park Commission adopted a Parks Master Plan on November 25. Thank <br />you to Parks and Recreation department staff and the Park Commission <br />for their time and effort on completing the plan in house. As you know, we <br />made a request of Washington University to assist us with the next phase <br />of planning for the three parks in Parkview Gardens, Eastgate, Metcalf <br />and Ackert Walkway. Director of Local Government Affairs Cheryl <br />Adelstein is currently reviewing a proposal by landscape architect John <br />Hoal. If approved, WU will fund the next phase of park planning process, <br />which will begin with meetings for stakeholders in the neighborhood to <br />develop a long-term vision for the parks in concert with the Centennial <br />Greenway. The document will assist with planning and grant writing. <br />Staff is requesting a motion for approval. <br /> <br />
