<br />Council Agenda Item Cover <br />___________________________________________________________ <br />MEETING DATE: <br /> January 26, 2009 <br />AGENDA ITEM TITLE: <br />Items from the Traffic Commission Meetings Held on <br /> November 12, 2008 and December 10, 2008 <br />AGENDA SECTION: <br /> New Business <br />CAN THIS ITEM BE RESCHEDULED? : <br />Yes <br />BACKGROUND REVIEW: <br />At the Traffic Commission meetings indicated above, the Traffic Commissioners <br />recommended that the following items be approved by the City Council: <br />1. <br />Prohibit through traffic at all times on Liberty Avenue between Hanley and the north <br />city limits (from the 11/12/08 meeting). <br />2. <br />Install a stop sign on Canton Ave. at Mendell Drive (from the 12/10/08 meeting). <br />The minutes of the traffic commission meetings and the respective ordinances concerning <br />items Liberty and Canton at Mendell were shared with the January 2 Weekly Report. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department that the attached ordinances <br />which prohibit through traffic on Liberty and allow the installation of a stop sign on Canton <br />Avenue be approved by the City Council. <br /> <br />
