She asked Mr. Mulligan to look at this ordinance. <br />Mr. Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave. <br />Mr. Dockett was present to raise concern with the Board of Commission of MSD. He <br />stated the three of the commissioners are appointed by the County Executive, <br />Charles Dooley and the other three are appointed by the Mayor of the City of St. <br />Louis, Francis Slay. He expressed his concern over MSD’s disregard for the citizens <br />of University City. Mr. Dockett said that MSD is negating their responsibility to the <br />River DesPeres. He stated that MSD had assured him that they would give a report <br />on the condition of the River DesPeres and the action plan they have. Mr. Dockett <br />had not seen that report yet. He suggested the City and its citizens need to contact <br />Mr. Dooley with their concern over the Commissioners he elected. <br />Stefany Brot, 8145 Cornell Ct <br />Mr. Brot thanked Mr. Price for asking the Council to approve the $1,000 from the <br />General Fund to replace the $1,000 from the CDBG Grant that was denied. Ms. <br />Brot handed out reports from the treasurer of the Sutter Meyer Society and asked <br />the Council to help support the upcoming raffle. <br />Kathy Straatmann, 6823 Crest 2 West <br />Ms. Straatmann thanked the Council for their support. <br />Jen Jensen, 706 Pennsylvania <br />Ms. Jensen also thanked the Council for any help and support. <br />Kelly O’Daniels, 1118 Wilson Ave. <br />Ms. O’Daniels asked the Council of the status of the flooded homes, how many are <br />still condemned and what are the future plans. <br />M. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Mr. Glickert mentioned the closing of the second section of Highway 40 which will <br />affect the traffic carried on Vernon Ave.He asked the City Manager if this section <br />could be cleaned of its debris and downed fences in order to give new travelers a <br />better site of University City. Secondly he talked about the University Heights <br />residents that formed a Neighborhood Watch program. He stated that of the one <br />hundred people present at this meeting, only fifteen knew of the Weekly Update put <br />out by the City Manager. Mr. Glickert suggested that signs be put up at the library, <br />Centennial Commons, etc. to advertise the Weekly and how to obtain it. Lastly he <br />complimented the Centennial Commons personnel for the great job they were doing <br />as the place was filled. <br />Mr. Price asked the City Manager for the update asked by Ms. O’Daniels. Ms. Feier <br />stated that condemnations on Wilson are from people who have abandoned their <br />homes. Hafner Court Apartments also are still not inhabitable. Ms. Feier noted that <br />Saturday, December 13 from, 9 a.m. to noon, FEMA and the Corps of Engineers will <br />be at Heman Community Center to address the River DesPeres and the Corps’ <br />plans and there will be break-out sessions to assist anyone needing help or <br />answers.
