<br />To: Honorable Mayor Adams and Council <br />From: Julie Feier, City Manager <br />Date: February 6, 2009 <br />Subject: Weekly Update <br />Financial Report <br />The FY09 Mid-year (July to December) is attached for your review. <br />The FY09 solid waste revenues and expenditures were moved from the general fund to <br />a new solid waste fund. Only delinquent payments and interest continue to be recorded <br />in the general fund. The report explains when taxes are received and for what period of <br />time in which they are recovered. It also explains the impact of the economy on the <br />general fund based upon the mid-year figures. Ms. Watson will field questions at the <br />February 9 Council Meeting. <br />2009 Returning Artist Program <br />A reminder that the welcomes Eric Mink, a <br />distinguished journalist for more than 30 years. A reception will be held at Centennial <br />Commons, 7210 Olive on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2 PM. All are welcome to attend <br />this free reception. <br />Kay Archer <br />Tomorrow, Saturday, February 7 at 1:00 PM, there will be a Memorial for , <br />who passed away unexpectedly this past week. Ms. Archer was a resident of <br />University City and employee of the United Way. She has been of tremendous <br />assistance since the flood in September. The service will be held at Christ Church <br />th <br />Cathedral, 1210 Locust between Tucker and 13. Ms. Archer was instrumental in the <br />formation of the “2-1-1” program, which is the first step for citizens in seeking social <br />services. She was so dedicated to her work and inspired all who knew her. Donations <br />may be made in her honor to United Way 2-1-1. <br />Love in the Loop <br />Next Saturday, February 14 from 7 to 10 PM there will be ! Take a <br />horse-drawn carriage ride, stroll the Loop to see all the window displays of famous <br />couples, or have your picture taken as a Lion and Lioness in celebration of their 100 <br />year birthday celebration. Above all, partake in the shopping and dining specials in the <br />Loop.
