AYES: Mr. Wagner, Mr. Crow, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe, Jr., Mr. Price and Mayor <br />Adams <br />NAYS: none <br />Bill 9022 became Ordinance 6770. <br />4. BILL 9023 – An ordinance providing for the submission of a proposition <br />authorizing an increase in tax levy on one hundred dollars valuation for general <br />municipal purposes to the qualified voters of the City of University City at an <br />election on August 4, 2009. <br />Mr. Wagner moved to defeat Bill 9023, seconded by Mr. Glickert and was <br />defeated by a unanimous vote. <br />5. BILL 9024 – An ordinance imposing an additional one-fourth of one percent sales <br />tax on all retail sales made in the City of University City which are subject to <br />taxation under Chapter 144 RSMo, and providing for the submission of a <br />proposition authorizing such tax to the qualified voters of the City of University <br />City at an election on August 4, 2009. <br />Mr. Sharpe moved for approval of Bill 9024 and was seconded by Mr. Price. <br />Roll Call Vote was: <br />AYES: Mr. Crow, Mr. Glickert, Mr. Sharpe, Jr., Mr. Price, Mr. Wagner and Mayor <br />Adams <br />NAYS: none <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />The Director of Community Development Lehman Walker explained that the ordinances <br />before Council were updates to existing codes to help University City maintain their <br />high quality building stock, both in commercial and residential areas.
