Session 1918
May 3, 2004

Mayor still believes that this should be reviewed by an attorney before the Council acts.
Mr. Wagner suggested that Mr. Mulligan be asked to review it.

Ms. Welsch moved approval of the resolution. Ms. Brot seconded the motion.

MS.
MS.
and

Brungardt said that this must be reviewed by the City Attorney.
Colquitt doesn't understand why this can't wait two weeks for the attorney to review
to be reworded?

Mr. Wagner suggested rephrasing the motion to approve the resolution, pending the
City Attorney's review, with the term "blue ribbon" being removed from the resolution
and the word "climate" being changed to "options", and that the Council is given
responsibility for appointing members to it. Council agreed.

Mr. Sharpe said that he had very serious concerns about this and the possibility that it
might upset current boards and commissions that do this kind of thing already.

Mr. Wagner stated that this task force is just making recommendations. The Council
does not have any obligation to take it.

The question was called. The motion to approve carried 5 to 2, with Mayor Adams and
Ms. Colquitt voting Nay.

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

None

BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION:

None

ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Adams announced that the next regular meeting of the City Council will be held
on Monday, May 17, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

The meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.m.

Leisha Meine Forsythe
City Clerk

Page 17
