Session 1923 <br />June 7, 2004 <br /> <br />4. Mr. Wagner introduced Bill 8718, which was read for the first time. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE DELIVERY OF NOT TO EXCEED <br />$6,490,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNTOF CERTIFICATES OF PARTICIPATION (CITY <br />OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, LESSEE), SERIES 2004, FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO PAY THE COSTS OF A PROJECT IN <br />THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI; AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING <br />CERTAIN DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE DELIVERY OF THE <br />CERTIFICATES; AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OTHER ACTIONS IN <br />CONNECTION WITH THE DELIVERY OF THE CERTIFICATES. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff explained the City's intention to sell bonds two weeks from tonight to <br />finance new fire station expansion on North and South Boulevard, to pay for additional <br />funds needed for the recreational facility expansion, and to pay for the first phase of <br />restoration of the historic City Hall building. The Resolution approved earlier this evening <br />authorized the City to take bids on the sale of those bonds. Bids will be received early on <br />Monday, June 21, 2004. The Bill just introduced will be on the docket for acceptance if a <br />good bid is received. Adoption of this Ordinance in two week's time will allow these three <br />projects to begin. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced the next Regular Session will be held on June 21, 2004 at 7:30 <br />P.M. It will be preceded by a Study Session, to be held at 6:30 P.M., in the E.O.C. Room, <br />on the same evening. <br /> <br />A joint meeting with the University City Plan Commission, a public meeting, will be held <br />on June 28, 2004, at 6:30 P.M. in the E.O.C Room. <br /> <br />A Study Session will be held on June 28, 2004, at 7:30 P.M., in the Second Floor <br />Conference Room. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams asked Councilmembers to consider appropriate dates for the City Council <br />to participate in a retreat, for a minimum of one and a half days. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Leisha Meine Forsythe <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />Page 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
