Session 1933
September 3, 2004

Bids for Police Dispatch Console

Mr. Ollendorff presented the summary of bids for a replacement police dispatch
console. Invitations for bids were issued for subject requirement. $204,000 was
budgeted for this purchase. St. Louis Electronics is the only local Motorola dealer that
could provide the console. The breakdown of the bid follows:

St. Louis Electronics

Console Console Furniture Training/Install
$79,000 $29,144 $17,050

Mr. Ollendorff recommended awarding the contract to St. Louis Electronics for their bid
of $125,194.

Mr. Sharpe moved approval. Ms. Welsch seconded the motion.

Mr. Ollendorff, upon Ms. Colquitt's request, explained that if a call is an accident, both
fire and police are dispatched, if the call is just a heart attack, for example, then just an
ambulance is sent out. Ms. Colquitt wanted to make sure that all dispatchers stayed on
the phone with callers until emergency help arrived. She wanted to make sure that they
have received and are using the necessary training to help callers during this critical
period when the resident is waiting for emergency help. Mr. Ollendorff replied that he
felt most had received the training, but he would find out for her.

The motion to approve carried unanimously.

Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 4:15 p.m.

Leisha Meine Forsythe
City Clerk

Page 2
