Session 1932 <br />August 16, 2004 <br /> <br />CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The Bill was given its second reading. <br />The Bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved adoption and Ms. Brot seconded. The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Ms. Brot, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. Mr. <br />Wagner and Ms. Brungardt did not vote due to absence; NAYS: none. Bill number <br />8723 passed and became Ordinance number 6495. <br /> <br />BILL 8726 - AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING <br />TO ZONING, BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION <br />34-106.3(5), TEMPORARY PROMOTIONAL DISPLAYS, SO AS TO CHANGE <br />TIME RESTRICTIONS; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING <br />A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The Bill was given its second reading. <br />The Bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved adoption and Ms. Colquitt seconded. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams explained "savings clause" to Ms. Brot. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Brot, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe, Ms. Colquitt <br />and Mayor Adams; Mr. Wagner and Ms. Brungardt did not vote due to absence; NAYS: <br />none. Bill number 8726 passed and became Ordinance number 6496. <br /> <br />BILL 8729 - PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSITION TO <br />THE QUALIFIED VOTERS AT THE GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 2, <br />2004, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF RENOVATING AND IMPROVING CITY HALL. <br /> <br />The Bill was read for the second time. <br />The Bill was read for the third time. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved adoption and Ms. Brot seconded. <br /> <br />Mr. Edward McCarthy, 7101 Princeton, posed several questions about the bond issue: <br />1) which options will be adopted and for what amount of money, 2) whether tonight is <br />the only opportunity to discuss the proposal, 3) whether this building should even be <br />used as City Hall, and 4) what is the time frame for the bond issue? He prefers <br />discussion now to one when these issues are on the ballot. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff responded that the City Council had made it clear to him that this item <br /> Page 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
