Session 1932 <br />August 16, 2004 <br /> <br />follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Ms. Brot, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams; <br />NAYS; none. Bill number 8731 passed and became Ordinance number 6499. <br /> <br />BILL 8732 -AMENDING CHAPTER 10.44 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICITONS FOR SPECIFIC STREETS, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 10.44.010 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING <br />PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS, AND <br />ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br />SECTION 10.44.010 SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES ON THE <br />WEST SIDE OF MANHATTAN AVE. AND TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL <br />TIMES ON THE EAST SIDE OF MANHATTAN AVE. FROM THE SOUTH <br />CURBLINE ON FORSYTH TO A PROINT 35 FEET SOUTH AT FORSYTH; <br />CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The Bill was given its second reading. <br />The Bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved approval and Mr. Sharpe seconded. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot asked for the rationale for not allowing parking there, and Mr. Ollendorff said <br />this change was recommended unanimously by the Traffic Commission. The request <br />originated with the developer to remove the sign allowing parking between the <br />designated signs, which was formerly a "no parking at any time" zone. Neighbors were <br />advised and agreed to the suggestion and the Traffic Commission voted to support the <br />removal of the "no parking" sign. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Brot, Ms. Welch, Mr. Sharpe, Ms. Colquitt <br />and Mayor Adams; NAYS: none. Bill number 8732 passed and became Ordinance <br />number 6500. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: <br /> <br />1. Mr. Sharpe introduced Bill number 8733 which was read for the first time: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.62 OF THE UNIVERSITY <br />CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE POLICE AND <br />FIREFIGHTER'S RETIREMENT SYSTEM BY AMENDING SECTIONS <br />2.62.050 AND 2.62.150 RELATING TO THE DETERMINATION OF BASE <br />SALARY AND BENEFIT INCREASES WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN <br />RETIREES. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch introduced Bill number 8734 which was read for the first time: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT OF A TRACT OF <br /> Page 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
