Session 1719, Minutes 13 <br />April 13, 1998 <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: <br /> <br />A bill was introduced by Mr. Ware, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE GRANTING, SELLING AND CONVEYING TO THE METROPOLITAN <br />ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT FOUR PERMANENT EASEMENTS ON STRIPS OF <br />GROUND LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST AND SOUTHWEST CORNERS OF <br />VERNON AND PENNSYLVANIA AVENUES; IN HEMAN PARK ALONG VERNON <br />AVENUE, BETWEEN PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE AND MIDLAND BOULEVARD; AND <br />AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF VERNON AVENUE AND MIDLAND <br />BOULEVARD. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned Bill No. 8382. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENT: <br /> <br />Ms. Frances Ford, 7026 Dartmouth, said she was gravely concerned about being <br />harassed by the University City Police Department. She relayed her story to the <br />Council, which detailed a couple psychiatric episodes that ended up with police <br />involvement that she felt was unwarranted and life threatening. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that he would refer this matter to the City Manager and they would <br />discuss it. He asked Ms. Ford for any written documentation that would help them with <br />their investigation. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that the next regular meeting for the City Council would be <br />held on May 4th, same time and place. The Mayor also announced the need for a <br />special meeting of the Council to certify the recent election results and approve one bid. <br />The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 9:20 p.m. <br /> <br /> Leisha K.
