Session 1719, Minutes 13
April 13, 1998

BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION:

A bill was introduced by Mr. Ware, entitled:

AN ORDINANCE GRANTING, SELLING AND CONVEYING TO THE METROPOLITAN
ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT FOUR PERMANENT EASEMENTS ON STRIPS OF
GROUND LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST AND SOUTHWEST CORNERS OF
VERNON AND PENNSYLVANIA AVENUES; IN HEMAN PARK ALONG VERNON
AVENUE, BETWEEN PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE AND MIDLAND BOULEVARD; AND
AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF VERNON AVENUE AND MIDLAND
BOULEVARD.

The bill was given its first reading and assigned Bill No. 8382.

CITIZEN COMMENT:

Ms. Frances Ford, 7026 Dartmouth, said she was gravely concerned about being
harassed by the University City Police Department. She relayed her story to the
Council, which detailed a couple psychiatric episodes that ended up with police
involvement that she felt was unwarranted and life threatening.

Mayor Adams said that he would refer this matter to the City Manager and they would
discuss it. He asked Ms. Ford for any written documentation that would help them with
their investigation.

ADJOURNMENT:

Mayor Adams announced that the next regular meeting for the City Council would be
held on May 4th, same time and place. The Mayor also announced the need for a
special meeting of the Council to certify the recent election results and approve one bid.
The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 9:20 p.m.

Leisha K. Meine, City Clerk
