Session 1719, Minutes <br />April 13, 1998 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />U. CITY IN BLOOM PLANT SALE: <br /> <br />The Mayor announced that the U. City In Bloom annual plant sale would take place on <br />April 25t" at the Heman Park Community Center. He urged everyone to get out and <br />show their support for this fine organization by buying some plants. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: (Two Items): <br /> <br />#1 - Demolition Bids: 6825 Julian: Bids were received on March 31, 1998 for demolition <br />of this building: <br /> <br />Aalco Wrecking Co. $9,740 <br />Coryera Abatement Technologies 8,625 <br /> (With $345 to seed & straw) <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends accepting the Coryera bid of $8,970 with a lien to be placed <br />on the property. <br /> <br />#2 - Lighting Fixtures for Parking Lot #4: Bids for the purchase of 3 new poles and 12 <br />upgraded light fixtures for the lot on Kingsland were received. Six companies were <br />invited to bid. This project was estimated at $10,890. The results were as follows: <br /> <br />Metro Electric <br />United Electric <br /> <br />$10,375.79 <br />10,195.19 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends awarding the requirement to United Electric for their low bid <br />of $10,195.19 plus $697.41 for one spare fixture for speedy repair when needed in the <br />future. This project will require a transfer of funds from reserves to the Streetlight <br />budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved approval of the Consent Calendar. Mr. Wagner seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2: TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that this item was on the table. Mr. Wagner moved to remove this <br />item from the table. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that approval was recommended by the Plan Commission subject to <br />landscaping and compliance with the Zoning Code pertaining to operation and <br /> <br /> <br />
