Firestone's re- <br />quest is for the sale of 5% beer by the package only. <br /> <br />Following discussion, it was the consensus of tile 'Council that this matter <br />be deferred until the points raised can be clarified, and so was the order. <br /> <br />CONSIDEPJITION OF TRANSFER OF FUNDS: * Please see other side <br />Consideration of certain budgetary transfers was explained by the City <br />Manager,* Following discussion, Councilman Soule moved that the Council <br />authorize the transfer qf $3,300.00 from the Contingent Appropriation to <br />Account 140OB; that $190.00 be transferred from the Contingent Appropria- <br />tion to Ac'count 2630E, and that $85.00 be transferred from the Contingent <br />Appropriation to Accoun~ 1600E. Motion seconded by Councilman Stake, and <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />I~wEs~IENT OF FUNDS: <br />T!~e City Manager stated that as a result of the completion of the City's <br />property tax collections for 1959, the City has available surplus funds <br />for investment. It was ti~e reconm.~endation of ti~e administrative forces <br />ti~at $120,000 of general fund money be invested in 4-3/4% U. S. Govern-. <br />ment Uotes maturing August 15, 1960. He said ti~ese will yield approxi- <br />mately 4-1/2%. <br /> <br />The City Manager further recommended that from Bond Retirement Funds <br />$12~000 be invested in U. S. Treasury Bills maturing July 14, 1960 - these <br />will yield to the City approximately 4.55%. In addition, City Manager <br />Henry said, $33,000 of Bond Retirement Funds may be invested in U. S. <br />Treasury Bills maturing January 15, 1961~ and ti~ese will yield approxi- <br />mately 4.86%. <br /> <br />Following discussion, Councilman Tandler moved that the recoramendation of <br />tLe City Manager be approved~ and that investment of funds as set out in <br />agenda item number 4 be authorized.
