The City would do the actual planting, but the Chapter would
purchase the trees and they City would take over the care.

Answering questions, Mrs. Carlson said it is hoped the plantings can begin in
the Fall and the second planting would be in the Spring of '76.

Councilman Ueissenburger moved approval. ~tion was seconded by Councilman
Grimm and unanimously carried.

COI.~NITY SCHOOL GROUP:
Consideration of this matter was temporarily deferred. (See page

BIDS - ROOFING - H~i~ PAPdC COmmUNITY CENTER:
City ~nager Henry reviewed bids which had been received for repair to the
roof of the Heman Park Come, unity Center. The administrative forces recommend-
ed that contract be awarded to the Aldrich Roofing Company in the amount of
$3,750, this being the lowest and best bid.

There was some general discussion and the City l~anager answered questions.

It was moved by Councilman Werner, seconded by Councilman Grimm, and unani-
mously carried, that the recommendation of the administrative forces be ap-
proved and that contract be awarded to the Aldrich Roofing Company in the
amount of $3,750, this being the lowest and best bid.

BIDS -AI~ULANCE RADIOS:
City l~nager Ilenry reviewed bids which had been received for two 4 channel
ambulance radios, and he explained the need for them. ~ere was some dis-
cussion~ and the City Manager answered questions, along with ~. V. A. Ellman~
Director of Finance. ~Ir. Ellman, in reply to Councilman Adams, said that
the specs had been dra~rn up by ~. John Hancock, Communications Specialist.

The administrative forces recommended that contract be awarded to l~otorola at
a cost of $2,227 for each Unit, maintenance co~t of $81.00 each, total
$4,616.00.

As to estimated delivery time on both bids (question by Councilman Lieber-
man, ~. Ellman invited I.Ir. Bill Carter, representative of ~torola, to
answer. ~{r. Carter said that delivery can be made in 49 days. Councilmmn
Lieberman said he was wondering if there is a significant difference between
delivery date offered by liotorola and General Electric (the two bidders),
whether it might not be advisable to award the contract to General Electric,
~ose bid was only slightly higher than ~torola's, since ~ere appears to
be a need for these radios in the ambulances. However, he continued, 49
days is not unreasonable and he doesn't believe that General Electric could
really beat that to any degree. Councilman Lieberman moved that contract
be awarded to the ~otorola Company, in the amount of $4,616.00, this being
the lowest and best bid. l~tion was seconded by Councilman Adams and unani-
mously carried.
