LICENSE TAX--IMPOSED; AMOUNT," BY PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE FRO~ SEVEN PER CENT TO NI~qE PER CENT OF GROSS RECEIPTS; CO~fAINING A~q EFFECTIVE DATE OF AUGUST 1, 1974~ CO~qTAINI~G Ai~ EMERGENCY CLAUSE, AiqD PROVIDING A PEi~kLTY." The bill was assigned number 6998 and given its first reading. Bill No. 6998 was given its second reading. Bill No. 6998 was given its third reading. Councilman Glickert moved that Bill No. 6998 be adopted as an ordinance. Motion was seconded by Councilman Werner. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYES: Councilmen Lieberman, Woods, Werner, ¥~eissenburger, Glickert and Mayor Kaufman. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Councilman Grimm. The motion therefore carried and Bill No. 6998 was adopted as Ordinance No. 4859. BILL NO. 6999 - ACCEPTING T~ CONVEYANCE OF VARIOUS PARCELS OF LAND: A bill was introduced by Councilman Glickert, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE CONVEYA~CE OF VARIOUS PARCELS OF VACANT LAND AS DESCRIBED HEREIN, IN TIlE CITY OF UI~IVERSITY CITY, COUI~fY OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, A/~ID AUTHORIZING THE CONSIDERATION THEREFOR IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) PER PARCEL." The bill was assigned number 6999 and given its first reading. MISCELLANEOUS: QUESTIO~AIRE ON CITY SERVICES: Mayor Kaufman stated that he has a note from ~[rs. l~ary Kane, National Urban Fellow, concerning the final format of the questionnaire on City services which has been prep8red as part of the Comprehensive Pla~ming Program. He said he has examined the questionnaire and finds it is very thorough, but is wondering how many citizens will take the time to read through all of those questions. Following some discussion, Councilman Woods said she would like to see the Council go ahead on this and see what reaction is received. It was agreed that this be done.
