He said he <br />understands that representatives of I~est Portland Place Association plan to <br />attend the Council meeting on July 22nd to make a presentation. He asked <br />that the attorneys, or anyone else involved with that shopping center, be <br />invited to attend the meeting. Councilman Woods suggested that other estab- <br />lishments also be notified, and after some discussion it was agreed that a <br />letter be sent to all licensees (liquor). <br /> <br />Councilman Werner introduced a bill, entitled: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF T~h~ MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, BY REPEALING SECTION 4-45 <br />TI{EREOF, AS A~NDED BY ORDINAi~CE NO. 4008, ENACTED NOVE~BER 4, 1963, RELAT- <br />ING TO HOURS OF SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, AI~D ENACTING IN LIEU T~EP~EOF A <br />NEW SECTION TO BE KNO~,~I AS "SECTION 4-45. itOURS OF SALE; SALE ON SUI~DAY AND <br />ELECTION DAY; HOURS OF CLOSING," BY ~MENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROVIDE <br />FOR A 1:30 A.M. CLOSING TIME FOR ANY ESTABLISI~ENT LICENSED TO SELL <br />INTOXICATING LIQUOR; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY." <br /> <br />The bill was assigned number 7001 and given its first reading. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS, Continued: <br /> <br />SCHEDULE OF CO~CIL P~ETINGS FOR AUGUST <br /> AND <br />PROPOSED AMEI'~MENTS TO ZONING CODE: <br />Councilman Uerner called attention to various proposed amendments to the <br />Zoning Code, which had been discussed by the Council, and it had been sug- <br />gested at the time that a public hearing be held, but nothing further was <br />done. He said that the Council had promised Mr. Magidson that a hearing <br />would be held. <br /> <br />After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Weissenburger, seconded <br />by Councilman Werner and unanimously carried that the Council schedule a <br />meeting (for the month of August) on August 12, 1974. <br /> <br />Councilman %~rner then moved that a public hearing be held at 8:00 P.M., <br />August 12, 1974, to consider various proposed changes to the Zoning Code. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Ueissenburger and unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
