Special Session 1079, Minutes <br />June 26, 1974 <br /> <br /> / <br />Bid Proposals - Asphaltic Concrete, continued: <br /> <br />The award would range from $6,000 to $5,400. <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Werner moved that the recommendation <br />of the administrative forces be approved and that contract be awarded to <br />Fred Weber, Inc. on the basis set forth above. ~otion seconded by Council- <br />man Weissenburger and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS - LUBRICATING OILS AND RELATED SUPPLIES: <br />City Manager Henry stated that bid proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of lubricating oils, grease and other related supplies for the <br />next fiscal year. Of eleven companies who were solicited, only one returned <br />a proposal. The present supplier, J. D. Streett & Company, submitted a bid <br />on all products with ~e exception of one, and the total bid amounts to <br />$7,039.15. <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Werner moved that the contract be <br />awarded to J. D. Streett & Company in the total amount of $7,039.15. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman Glickert and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS - TRAP ROCK: <br />City Manager i{enry stated that the only local company who is in a position <br />to furnish trap rock is Breckenridge ~iaterial Company, and they have sub- <br />mitted a bid for the furnishing of 1000 tons of 1/4" trap rock for the year <br />ending June 30,1975, at a price of $11.45 per ton. <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman We~ler moved that the contract be <br />awarded to Breckenridge Material Company in the ~nount of ~11.45 per ton. <br />Motion was seconded by Councilman Glickert and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS - READY MIXED CONCRETE: <br />City Manager Henry reviewed bids which had been received for furnishing of <br />the City's concrete needs for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1974, and <br />recommended that contract be awarded to Basic because of their location <br />which is convenient to the City and the savings from their ready availability <br />offsets the higher cubic yard price. (Basic's price was $5,405.00 as com- <br />pared to Breckenridge's price of $4,979.50.) <br /> <br />Councilman Werner moved that the contract be awarded to Basic in the amount <br />of $5,405.00. Motion seconded by Councilman Glickert and unanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Lieberman expressed the view that it should somehow be brought to <br />the attention of the people in this community what the impact is to the City <br />budget of inflationary prices -- just how incredibly high the increases <br />really are. <br /> <br />BUDGETARY TRANSFERS: <br />City Manager Henry stated that a number of budgetary transfers for the <br />1973-74 fiscal year have become necessary as outlined in agenda item number <br />11. He answered questions. <br /> <br />Councilman Weissenburger moved approval of the budgetary transfers as set <br />forth in the agenda item (number 11). Motion seconded by Councilman Woods <br />and unanimously carried. A copy of the list of transfers is attached hereto <br />and made a part of the record. <br /> <br /> <br />
