Dieckgraefe feel it is essential, the <br />Council ought to move ahead on the item of truck chassis at this time. <br />Councilman Epstein said she wouldn't want the City to find itself at the <br />mercy of any private collectors, however, she thinks Councilman Werner has <br />a point in asking for cost figures on the transfer station. Councilman <br />Werner reiterated his position. Councilman Glickert suggested that the <br />City could probably do the collection work more cheaply than through private <br />haulers. ~%e possibility of extending the time of the bids was considered. <br /> <br />Following further discussion, lfayor Kaufman said the Council will meet <br />again next week at which time this matter can be considered. Accordingly, <br />the matter was deferred. <br /> <br />PROPOSED REZONING OF 1~STOVER-RITTER PROPERTIES: <br />Mayor Kaufman at ~is time returned to agenda item number 1 - a public <br />hearing concerning proposed rezoning of Westover-Ritter properties for <br />the purpose of eStablishing a Target Store and said he understands that <br />the Plan Commission will meet this Uednesday night. The i.~yor said he <br />thinks that all members of the Council should attend that meeting - he <br />thinks this item is of sufficient importance to the City of University <br />City that every member of the Council ought to be present for the purpose <br />of carrying on a dialogue on this subject. <br /> <br />BIDS - SUPPLYING LIQUID ASPHalT: <br />The City Hanager said this is a contract item which expires June 30, and <br />he invited ~. A. B. Dleckgraefe, Director of Public Uorks~ to comment. <br />Mr. Dieckgraefe said it is of importance because there is a sizeable <br />difference between the two bidders and the quality of the performance of <br />the Iow bidder has been mentioned previously. He said he is not prepared <br />at this time~ however, to recommend a second bidder over the low bidder <br />and has not had an opportunity to discu..s in detail his services. <br /> <br />Action was accordingly deferred. <br /> <br />MEETING .OF COUNCIL - JULY 7, 1969: <br />Upon an inquiry by the City }~nager, }~yor Kaufman stated the Council may <br />meet on July 7, 1Q69, if that is the wish of the Council. Following brief <br />discussion, it was agreed that a Council meeting be held on July 7, 1969, <br />at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />CIIANGE IN TI~-~ OF COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 30~ 1969: <br />Concerning the meeting of 'th~ Co~6~l sche~u'le~' for next }~nday, it was <br />agreed that the time be changed from 7:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. in order to <br />allow sufficient time to attend the session with the schools. Councilman <br />Epstein moved accordingly; motion seconded by Councilman Werner and unani- <br />mously carried. <br /> <br />BUDGETARY TRANSFERS: <br />City ~.~nager Henry briefly reviewed budgetary transfers which are required <br />to complete the current fiscal year within budgetary limits. Following <br />discussion, Councilman Epstein moved approval of the budgetary transfers <br />as listed in agenda item number 6. ~tion seconded by Councilman Grimm <br />and unanimously carried. A copy of the agenda item is attached hereto <br />and made a part of the record. <br /> <br /> <br />
