SPECIAL SESSION 936 MINUTES OF T~ UI'~IVEP~ITY CITY CObqqCIL June 39, 1969 At a special meeting of the City Council held Monday, June 30, 1969, Mayor ~than B. Kaufman presided and called the meeting to order at 9:30 P.M. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Lawrence Lieberman Mr. H. Hadley Grimm Mr. Charles A. Werner }~s. Zelda Epstein* Mrs. Elsie Glickert *Mrs. Epstein arrived at the meeting at 9:45 P.M. ABS~T: Mrs. Harriett Uoods (out of the City) Also present were City Manager Charles T. Henry and John J. Morris, Director of Law. MINUTES: Inasmuch as the Minutes of the Council meeting held on June 23, 1969, were not ready for submission, Hayor Kaufman stated they would be considered at the next session. C~MUNICATIONS: NOTE OF APPRECIATION - ~RS. CHARLES T. HENRY: Upon inquiry by the }~yor whether any cormr, unications had been received, the City Clerk called attention to a note of ar, preciation from Mrs. Charles T. Henry for flowers sent to her by the Couocil r~cemtly while she was in the hospital. Copies had been transmitted to memSers of the Council. CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: SUMMER MEETING SCHEDULE: Mayor Kaufman suggested that consideration of this item be deferred until later this evening and added that he would then make a rece~m~endation. (See page 10) BIDS - REFUSE COLLECTION UNITS Ai, D REFUSE COLLECTION TRUCKS: City Manager Henry explained that the administrative forces are still not satisfied with the Loadmaster presentation. Ke called attention to a memorandum which he had transmitted to the Council on the specific problems confronting the City on this equipment a~ he discussed it further. City Manager Henry recommended that the Council approve the bid proposal of Roedel Brothers, Inc. for the packer trucks and hold off on the question of the truck bodies until the Loadmaster body can be properly tested this coming week. I, fayor Kaufman inquired as to the pleas~re o.C ~he Council. Discussion followed and questions propounded by mar. berg of the Council were answered by City i~nager Itenry. ! Councilman Lieberman moved that contract be awarded to Rs&del Brothers, Inc.
