Special Session 936~ Minutes <br />June 30, 1969 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />see how the Council is bound by the fact that the sign was posted. <br /> <br />At the request of the ~yor, City ~4ana§er Henry commented on the number of <br />family passes being purchased since the S~imming Pool charge was increased. <br /> <br />Councilman Epstein, Council representative on the Park Commission, said the <br />Park Commission reviewed this and is in favor of encouraging the purchase <br />of family passes, The matter of the Golf fees, she continued~ was also <br />discussed by the Commission at some length and it was felt that an across <br />the board increase was preferable, and she expressed the view that the <br />Council ought to abide by the recommendation of the Commission and if the <br />Council wishes to do so it can increase the fee next year. <br /> <br />Discussion continued and the City Manager answered questions and he sug- <br />gested moving forward on the amended recomnendation by Labor Day. Members <br />of the Council continued to express their views. <br /> <br />~{ayor Kaufman suggested that in order to reach some compromise, he wonders <br />whether the Council would be agreeable to proceeding with the 25¢ increase <br />and have the amendment take place by Labor Day - an appropriate amendment ~o <br />and he asked whether this would sat~fy the motion and the second. The <br />City Manager, upon inquiry by the Mayor, said he would be able to implement <br />an amendment by Labor Day. Councilman Grimm said he would agree to this on <br />condition that the Council has a recommendation from the City ~Ianager with <br />regard to suggested increase on the ~eek-ends in a higher amount. ~ayor <br />ICaufman said he would like to have a recommendation by next week and the <br />City Manager said he would submit one. [,~yor I~aufman suggested the Council <br />act on the 25¢ increase and that City ~.~nager Henry submit a recommendation <br />for action next week. Councilman Lieberman moved approval of the 25¢ in- <br />crease. Motion seconded by Councilman Epstein and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />LICENSED PLUMBERS AND ELECTRICIAI~S - HOUSING CODE: <br />Councilman Lieberman requested that an appropriate bill be prepared waiving <br />the requirement for licensed plumbers and licensed electricians for Housing <br />Code problems and repairs. He said he would like to bring this before the <br />Council in order to reach a determination. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMenT: <br />On motion of Councilman Gri~n, seconded by Councilman Epstein and unani- <br />mously carried, the meeting adjourned at 11:33 P.M. <br /> <br />Fr~ci§ C.
