Special Session 936, Minutes
June 30, 1969

Page 10

which would include the west portion. Mr. Guidera asked for an early
resolution so the might live within the contractual obligations which
they have and he said he wants to correct the date he gave last week of
July 9th ~.this should be July 10th - when the options which have been
assigned to them expire and as of this date there is no indication they
will be extended on the part of the sellers.

S~ER SCHEDULE OFMEETINGS OF COUNCIL:
~yor Kaufman suggested that the Council set a summer schedule of meetings
as follows: July 7th and August 4th, 1969, and as suggested heretofore,
special meetings can be called if deemed advisable. Councilman Grimm moved
accordingly. Motion seconded by Councilman Epstein and unanimously carried.

~iayor Kaufman inquired whether any member of the public desired to present
any matter not on the agenda~ there was no response.

TRAFFIC CONTROL - NORTH A~ SOUTH AND OLIVE - HANLEY AND OLIVE:

Councilman Lieberman called attention to the fact that another serious
accident occurred recently at the corner of North and South Road and Olive
Boulevard at night, when the red lights were flashing. He requested the
City Manager to ask the Traffic Commission to make a study of this location
as far as traffic control is concerned, and that they also review the
situation at Hanley and Olive - he understands a similar condition exists
there. City Manager Henry indicated he would do so.

GOLF FEE INCREASE:
Mayor Kaufman called attention to a memo from the City Manager dated
June 30, 1969, requesting that the Council approve a golf course fee
crease of an additional 25¢ across the board starting July 1, and he in
quired as to the pleasure of the Council.

Counci!m~n Epstein moved that the golf course fee be increased 25¢. Motion
seconded by Councilman Glicker~.

Councilman ~]erner said he has no objection to the increase of 25¢ during
the week, Monday thru Friday, but he questions whether that amount during
week-ends and holidays is sufficient, and in his opinion the week-ends
should be increased 50¢.

City }~nager Henry, reviewing the matter, said the 25¢ was recommended
after looking at the statistics, and the administrative forces have posted
a sign indicating there would be a 25¢ increase. He said he was under the
impression that this was the general consensus and it would now be a little
awkward to add an additional 25¢ all of a sudden.

Councilman Grimm pointed out that he had brought this matter up two or
three weeks ago at which time he had made a motion (and withdrew it at
the request of the Mayor) which would have increased 25¢ during the week,
an increase on Saturday and Sunday, and a higher increase for non-residents
and residents - and he is merely saying for the record that th~ is not
being brought up at the last minute. City Manager Henry observed there had
been no agreement, however, whereupon Councilman Werner recalled that at
that time the matter was to go back to the Park Commission. The City
}~nager pointed out this had been done and the Commission had recommended
the 25¢ increase. Discussion continued and Councilman ~erner said he can't
