Bill Griep, representing the Southwestern Bell <br />Telephone Company, asked to be recognized, which request was granted. <br />Mr. Griep spoke in opposition to Bill No. 6407~ and indicated that if the <br />ordinance is approved they intend to pass the increase on in a direct <br />manner to the customers. <br /> <br />Upon poll of the Council~ the following vote was recorded: AYES: Council- <br />men Liebermmn, Woods, Grimm~ Bamburg, ~pstein, Iiatzen and ~.~yor Kaufman. <br />NAYS: None. ABSENT: None. ABSENT: None~ ~e motion therefore <br />carried and Bill No. 6408 was adopted as Ordinance No. 4319. <br /> <br />BILL NO. ~409 AS A}iENDED - ACCEPTING P~PORT OF CO~IlSSIONERS IN WILSHIRE- <br />NORTH AI~D SOUTH-OLIVE I~PROVEMEMT: <br /> <br />~.~yor Kaufman called attention to a memorandum from City Counselor ~rris <br />dated June 26~ 1967, concerning amendment to Bill Mo. 6409, whereupon <br />Councilman Lieberman accordingly moved that Bill No. 6409 be amended <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> Strike Section 3, and enact in lieu thereof a new Section 3, reading <br />as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 3. The City Counselor is authorized to negotiate <br />acquisitions for the individual parcels for such sums not <br />exceeding the award of the Commissioners as to said parcels, <br />and the Director of Finance is further authorized to pay for <br />the property so acquired, or, in the alternative~ authorized <br />to pay into the Court Registry the awards of the Commissioners <br />in a total sum not to exceed Fifty Six Thousand Fifty Dollars <br />($56,05o)." <br /> Continued, next page <br /> <br /> <br />
