Special Session 869, Minutes <br />June 26, 1967 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR CONCP~TE NEEDS: <br />City Manager Henry stated that bid proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of the City's needs for concrete for the fiscal year beginning <br />July 1, 1967~ and the City has compared the savings to be derived from <br />selecting the lowest material bidder with the extra cost arising from an <br />extended trip to pick up material. The Basic lLiaterials Company submitted <br />the lowest and best bid, on the following basis: <br /> <br />225 Yards 20 Yards <br />Ready Mix Concrete Ready Mix Concrete <br /> Regular H.E.S. <br />Del. Picked Up <br />14.50 13.50 15.50 14.50 <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Lieberman moved that the recommenda- <br />tion of the administrative forces be approved and that contract be awarded <br />to the Basic P~terials Company as set forth above. Motion seconded by <br />Councilman Woods and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />MAYOR KAU~k~N: <br />At this juncture, 7:56 P.M., Mayor Kaufman arrived at the meeting, and <br />the Chairman pro tempore resumed his seat as Councilman. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR FURNISHING OILS AND LUBRICATING PRODUCTS: <br /> <br />The City i,~nager stated that bid proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of oils and lubricating products. It was the recommendation of <br />the administrative forces that the award be split between J. D. Street <br />Company, submitting a bid totaling $2701.33 for certain products and <br />Sahara Oil Company submitting a bid totaling $807.15 for the remaining <br />items. <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Grimm moved that the recommendation <br />of the administrative forces be approved and that contract be awarded to <br />the J. D. Street Company and the Sahara Oil Company, as set forth above. <br />~lotion seconded by Councilman Katzen and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR SUPPLYING BOILERS: <br />City ~nager Henry stated that bid proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of two boilers which will be installed in the library building <br />to provide heat for the City Hall complex. The administrative forces <br />recommended that the contract be awarded to Schroeder & Curry in the amount <br />of $10,195.00, this being the lowest and best bid. <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Grimm moved that the recommendation <br />of the administrative forces be approved and that contract be awarded to <br />Schroeder & Curry, as set forth above. Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Lieberman and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR SUPPLYING C~3'~[UNICATION EQUIPt.~NT: <br />CityManager Henry stated that bid proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of three mobile two-way radio units for the Police Department. <br />Motorola Communications and Electronics Incorporated responded with a <br />bid totaling $3586, and Electro-Comm Company, Incorporated has submitted <br /> <br /> <br />
