Session 868, Minutes Page 20 <br />June 19, 1967 <br /> <br />Bills for Introductigp, ~on~inued;.. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 6409 - ACCEPTING REPORT OF COmmISSIONERS IN WILSHIRE-NORTH AND <br />SOUTH-OLIVE <br /> <br />A bill was introduced by Councilman Epstein, entitled: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE CONFI~MINGAND ACCEPTING THE REPORT OF THE COMMISSIONERS <br />IN THE CASE ENTITLED "CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY VS. JOSEPH HICKEY ET AL.," <br />CAUSE NO. 282371, IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY, AND ACCEPTING <br />THE CONDE~ATION OF THE PROPERTY THEREIN DESCRIBED FOR PUBLIC USE." <br /> <br />The bill was assigned number 6409 and given its first reading. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS: <br /> <br />APPOINT~-~NT OF MRo FRANK ZIEVE TO LIBRARY BOARD: <br />Councilman Woods moved the appointment of Mr. Frank Zieve, 760 Syracuse, as <br />a member of the Library Board for a term expiring on June 30, 1968, to fill <br />the vacancy created by the resignation of Mrs. Joseph McConnell recently. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Epstein and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION - b~S. JOSEPH McCONNELL: <br />Councilman Woods moved that an appropriate certificate of appreciation be <br />transmitted, on behalf of the Council, to Mrs. Joseph McConnell, 6612 <br />Crest Avenue, who resigned recently as a member of the Library Board, <br />expressing gratitude for her outstanding efforts and time devoted. Motion <br />seconded by Councilman Epstein and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT OF COUNCII~AN HARRIETT WOODS TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE <br />POLICE AND FIREMF~I'S RETIR~2tENT FUND AND THE NON-UNIFORMED ~,.~LOYEES <br />RETIRE~4ENT Ft~]D: <br /> <br />Mayor Kaufman appointed Councilman Harriett Woods as liaison member to the <br />Board of Trustees of the Police and Firemen's Retirement Fund and the Non- <br />Uniformed Employees Retirement Fund. Councilman Woods indicated she would <br />be glad to accept the position. <br /> <br />LIAISON BETWEEN COUNCIL AND LIBRARY BOARD: <br />Councilman Bamburg said he would like to bring a matter to the attention <br />of the Council which has to do with the liaison between the Council and <br />the Library Board. (Councilman Bamburg is the Council representative on <br />the Library Board). He said the Library Board was having some difficulties <br />in dealing with the School Board over the exchange of some land (which was <br />discussed earlier this evening) and Mr. Frank, Secretary of the Library <br />Board, discussed the matter with Councilman Bamburg and it seems that the <br />lawyer for the City and the lawyer for the School Board were not moving <br />nearly as fast regarding the matter as the Library Board would like, and <br />Councilman Bamburg said it was his suggestion, made at that time to Mr. <br />Frank, that the Library Board advise the Council of this and the Council <br />would take action because it is iua position to do so, as principals in <br />the matter. <br /> <br />Councilman Bamburg said he heard nothing further about it and assumed they <br />had not followed his suggestion, and he happened to discuss it later on <br />with l~Ir. Frank who told him that he had advised the Council of this. <br />Councilman Bamburg said he told Mr. Frank he had no knowledge of such a <br /> <br /> <br />
