Session 172 I, Minutes <br />May 4, 1998 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe said that he had the pleasure to work with Mr. Ware on several problems <br />and that he was very thorough and detailed. He said that he would miss him and that <br />he had done a good job. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said that it had been a pleasure to work with Mr. Ware. He had been a <br />great addition to the Council and a great help on the subcommittees of the Council. <br />had represented his constituents with great honor and dedication. <br /> <br />He <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman said that Mr. Ware understands that no one really leaves the service of <br />the City. He is looking forward to possibly appointing him to a board or commission. <br />He said that Mr. Ware had learned a great deal and would continue to serve the <br />community. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer said that Mr. Ware was a valuable colleague and a strong voice. He also <br />found that he had a friend and a brother. Mr. Schoomer said that Mr. Ware would not <br />be let loose - the City works people hard. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel wished to thank Mr. Ware for the work that he did on the housing project <br />and the family development account. He also wished to thank him for being a, often <br />humorous, colleague and confidant on his side of the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams presented the Lifetime Park Pass to Mr. Ware. <br /> <br />Mr. Ware said that it had truly been a privilege and pleasure to serve on the Council. <br />He will treasure the memories and experience that he had acquired with working with <br />the City Manager, Assistant City Manager, City Clerk and other city staff. He served the <br />Third Ward in a fair and professional manner and feels he has done the best job <br />possible to benefit its citizens. He thanked everyone for giving him the opportunity to <br />serve on the Council. He said that it was not an easy job, but a very rewarding one. <br />He believes that service to humanity is the best work of life. (Applause followed) <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT SINE DIE: <br />Mayor Adams entertained a motion to adjourn sine die. Mr. Schoomer moved to <br />adjourn Sine Die. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office to Mayor Adams. (Applause followed) <br /> <br />Mayor Adams, individually, administered the oath of office to Mr. Robert G. Wagner, Mr. <br />Paul E. Schoomer, Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. and Ms. Cassandra B. Colquitt. Applause <br />followed. <br /> <br /> <br />
