Bill No. 8382 became Ordinance No. <br />6163. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: <br /> <br />A bill was introduced by Mr. Schoomer, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO LICENSES AND BUSINESS REGULATIONS, BY <br />REPEALING SECTIONS 18-58, 18-59, 18-60 AND 18-60.2 THEREOF, RELATING TO <br />PEDDLERS AND HAWKERS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SECTIONS <br />TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 18-58. DEFINITIONS," AND SECTION 18-59. <br />LICENSE REQUIRED," AND "SECTION 18-60. SAME FEES AND REGULATIONS;" <br />SO AS TO INCLUDE OTHER FOOD, BEVERAGES, AND TEMPORARY STANDS <br />WITHIN THE DEFINITIONS OF "PEDDLER" AND HAWKER;" AND TO LIMIT THE <br />ISSUANCE OF LICENSES TO CARRY ON THE BUSINESS OF A PEDDLER OR <br />HAWKER TO CHARITABLE OR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS; AND TO REQUIRE <br />THAT THE PEDDLING OR HAWKING TAKE PLACE ON PREMISES LAWFULLY <br />OCCUPIED BY A BUSINESS LICENSEE AND DURING THE HOURS SUCH <br />BUSINESS IS OPEN, AND TO RESTRICT THE ITEMS OFFERED FOR SALE BY THE <br />PEDDLER. OR HAWKER TO THOSE THAT CAN BE LAWFULLY SOLD ON THE <br />PREMISES BY THE BUSINESS LICENSEE; AND TO SET A MAXIMUM NUMBER OF <br />LICENSES THAT MAY BE ISSUED TO A PARTICULAR PEDDLER OR HAWKER <br />DURING 12 MONTHS AND FOR A LOCATION DURING 30 DAYS; AND TO <br />ESTABLISH RELATED REGULATIONS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A NEW PENALTY. <br /> <br /> <br />
