Regular Session 1941 <br />December 6, 2004 <br /> <br />First Things First outreach program. The Police Department will also conduct food and <br />toy drives, and she thanked two officers for their efforts: Kelly McGhee and Kelly <br />Montgomery. On Wednesday, the first class of the Citizen's Police Academy will <br />graduate. She cited it as an important project, engendering a healthy relationship <br />between citizens and police officers. The program will be repeated in 2005. Ms. <br />Brungardt said she is listed as a graduate of this course, but she will not be one, <br />because she was absent from too many classes, but thanked them for offering her a <br />certificate. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt said that December 23, 2004, from 7 to 10:00 P.M. she will hold her <br />seventh annual Holiday Party for children where Holiday Baskets will be prepared for <br />University City families in need. She asked that names and addresses of recipients be <br />forwarded to her. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot asked if the food and toy drive sought new toys and was advised yes, it was. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe commented that Ms. Colquitt was praised at the National League of Cities <br />conference held recently for proposing an amendment relating to HI¥ which was passed <br />by that group. He complimented her for her efforts. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said he was pleased to hear about the success of the Police Academy, <br />which had been his recommendation. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams asked for a motion to go into Executive Session to deal with matters <br />relating to personnel, to real estate, and to legal matters 610.023 (1) (2) and (3). Mr. <br />Sharpe moved to adjourn and Mr. Wagner seconded. The roll vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Ms. Brungardt, Mr. Wagner, Ms. Brot, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe and <br />Mayor Adams; NAYS: none; and the motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The next regular meeting will be held on Monday, January 10, 2005, at 6:30 P.M. in the <br />Council chambers. Mayor Adams reminded people of the change of time from 7:30 <br />P.M. to 6:30 P.M. and that the scheduled meeting for December 20, 2004 has been <br />cancelled. There will be a special meeting and a study session held this coming <br />Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 8:30 A.M. in the E.O.C. room in the basement.
