Regular Session 1941 <br />December 6, 2004 <br /> <br />Government Access Channel Grant Request <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended authorization of the City Manager to request Charter <br />Communications begin collection of the 10 cent per subscriber per month fee to provide <br />grants to the city to support a government access channel, as provided in the Cable <br />Television Franchise Agreement. <br /> <br />Removal of Asphalt Parkinq Lot-Heman Park <br /> <br />Invitations to bid were sent to three construction companies for removal of asphalt <br />parking lot Heman Park at Purdue/Midland. $20,000 was set aside in the budget for this <br />project. The following bid received: <br /> <br />Sunrise Construction Inc ................ $17,900.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended awarding this project to Sunrise Construction for their bid <br />of $17,900. They have successfully completed asphalt contracts for us in the past. <br /> <br />Two Portable Defibrillators for Fire Department <br /> <br />Request for Quotes were sent to vendors to provide pricing for subject Fire Department <br />equipment. The response follows: <br /> <br />Zoll Medical Corporation .................................. $36,381.80 <br />Midwest Mutual ................................................ $43,852.50 <br />Medtronic Emergency ..................................... $49,532.00 <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended awarding the order to Zoll Medical Corporation for <br />their Iow bid of $36,381.80. <br /> <br />Replacement of Transfer Station Buildinq and Shed <br /> <br />Invitations to bid were sent to four contractors for subject requirement. The following <br />bids were received: <br /> <br />Valley Park Welding ....................... $35,750.00 <br />Commonwealth Construction Co ..... $41,430.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended awarding this project to Valley Park Welding for their Iow <br />bid of $35,750. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of three items on the Consent Calendar, Ms. Colquitt <br />seconded and the motion passed unanimously. <br /> Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
