<br />SESSION 1541 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />MINUI'FS OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY CXXJNCIL <br /> <br />May 6, 1991 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the As- <br />sembly Room of city Hall on Monday, May 6, 1991, Mayor Janet Majerus presided <br />and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the <br />following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Price <br />Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mr. Robert G. Wagner <br />Mrs. Mal:y V. Schuman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mrs. Betty L. 'Ihampson <br /> <br />Also present were City Manager Frank Ollendorff and Washington University <br />student representative Christina Mueller. <br /> <br />MINUI'FS <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the April 15, 1991 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Adams seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AProIN'IMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved the appointment of Ms. '!heresa Alsup, 936 Gay Avenue, to the <br />Commission on Human Relations for a tenn expiring August 6, 1994. Mrs. Schu- <br />man seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus moved that Ms. Patricia Perryn'an, 848 Wilner Drive, be appoint- <br />ed to the Historic Preservation Commission for an unexpired tenn ending Sep- <br />tember 9, 1993. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Ms. Deborah A. '!harpe, recently appointed to the Park Commission, was given <br />the oath of office by the City Clerk. On behalf of the Council, Mayor Majer- <br />us expressed gratitude to Ms. Tharpe for agreeing to serve on this important <br />adviso:ry commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus asked Firefighters Linda Ccrrpenter and Brian Bremer to come <br />forward, as well as their families and Fire Chief Metcalf. '!he Mayor admin- <br />istered the oath of office to Ms. Carpenter and Mr. Bremer as newly appointed <br />captains in the Fire Department. '!here was a round of applause. <br /> <br />REFDRl' - WASHINGroN UNIVERSITY REPRESENI'ATIVE <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus noted that unfortunately this is Ms. Mueller's last meeting <br />since she will soon graduate from the university. Ms. Mueller said she was <br />grateful for the opportunity to act as liaison between the university and <br />University City, and she believed a number of goals had been reached--greater <br />
