Earl, pastor of Abundant Life Center OlUrch, 2221 Ashby <br />Road, said a lcu:ge number of church members arrl friends were in the audience, <br />and they wanted Council to knc:M of their desire to use the former Greensfeld- <br />er School as a church and religious school. He said the church previously <br />had a woooerful relationship with the city when it was located here before. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus asked Rev. Earl if he had contacted the School District. He <br />said the Church's bid on the school is to be considered by the School Board <br />this week. '!he Mayor said Council would look forward to a positive decision. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said there has been strong concern for the hazards POSe1 by this <br />errpty school for a number of years, and he felt homes adjoining the property <br />have been devalued because of this. He too hoped the School Board would ac- <br />cept the church's bid, but whether or not that happens, a productive use must <br />be found for that building as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Mrs. 'lborrpson agreed, noting the school was behirrl her home. She asked about <br />the adjacent railroad's interest in this property and also about the stipula- <br />tion that it llU.lSt be used for educational purposes. Mr. Ollerrlorff said he <br />was told that the railroad will receive some of the money when the property <br />is sold since it gave the property to the School District originally. Mr . <br />Price said the church school use will fulfill the educational requirement. <br /> <br />BIT J F; FOR SECDND READING <br /> <br />'!he city Clerk noted that Council received a cacmunication from the Director <br />of Planning stating that Bills 8001 and 8004 should be amended. since the <br />changes are minor, this need not result in delaying their passage. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams roved that Bill No. 8001 be amended by deleting Section 1401. 0 Ma- <br />sorn:y Materials, arrl Section 2103.0 Veneers. Mr. Schoomer seconded the m0- <br />tion. '!he roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmernbers Price, Adams, <br />Wagner, Schuman, Schoomer, 'Ihompson, and Mayor Majerus.
