<br />SESSION 1580 <br /> <br />MINUl'ES OF '!HE UNIVERSITY CITY CXXJNCIL <br /> <br />November 9, 1992 <br /> <br />At a regular maetin;J of the City Council of University City held in the As- <br />sembly Room of City Hall on MoOOay, November 9, 1992, Mayor Janet Majel:US <br />presided am called the maetin;J to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the <br />Mayor, the followin;J members of the Council v.rere present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Price <br />Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mr. RobertG.Wagner <br />Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br />Mr. PaulE.Schcx::Iner <br />Mrs. Betty L. 'Ihanpson <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollemorff. <br /> <br />MINUl'ES <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner IlDVed approval of the october 19, 1992, minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Price seconded the motion, which carried unanllnously. <br /> <br />APFOIN'IMENI'S. REAPFOIN'IMENI'S <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner IlDVed that Ms. Mary Gass, 6304 Wesbninster, am Ms. Carol D.mcan, <br />7433 Amherst, be reappointed to the Historic Preservation Conunission for <br />tenns expirin;J September 9, 1995. Mrs. Schuman seconded the motion, which <br />carried unanllnously. <br /> <br />Mr. Price IlDVed the appointment of Ms. Corene Brown, 7038 Melrose, to the <br />Traffic Conunission for an unexpired tenn errling JanualY 21, 1994. Mr. Wagner <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanllnously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman IlDVed the reappointment of Ms. Karen Ann-Ninnro Palmer, 7461 Cor- <br />nell, to the University city Conunittee for Access am Local Origination Pro- <br />gramming for a tenn expirin;J September 9, 1995. Mr. Wagner seconded the m0- <br />tion, am all voted Aye. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Ms. Mary S. (Polly) Guth, a new appointee to the Municipal Conunission on Arts <br />and Letters, was given the oath of office by the city Clerk. Mayor Majerus <br />thanked Ms. Guth for agreein;J to serve, am said membership on this lively <br />commission is always interestin;J since they have so many excitin;J projects. <br /> <br />SPECIAL HONOR FOR UNIVERSITY CITY <br /> <br />Mayor Majel:US said the presence of a festive array of balloons was explained <br />by the recent "Best of ....." articles in the Riverfront Times, which stated <br />that University city was judged by readers to be the "Best Neighborhood to <br />Live In" in the st. IDuis metropolitan area. <br />
