COUncil returned to the first item. <br /> <br />1. Boards am ccmnissions Dinner, $3,000. Even though this is sanewhat less <br />than was spent at the last dinner, it was decided to leave it at that annmt. <br /> <br />2. u. City in Bloan, $2,400. Mr. Ollen::1orff said this group would like an <br />increase if possible, am continued Park Departmant SUWOrt. COUncil.members <br />thought this group was doing an excellent jab am in addition to their labor, <br />they also fw:nish plants for neighbortloods that carmot afford to pay for them <br />After discussion, it was decided the City could afford to allcx:ate $2,500. <br /> <br />3. University City Residential Service (UCRS), $46,500. Mr. Ollernorff said <br />urns has requested an increase of $2,325. Mr. Schoaner pointed out sane of <br />urns's attributes and suggested they were responsible for helping to keep up <br />interest in University City. Mayor Majerus said Mr. Adams had asked her to <br />relay his views which were the same as in the last several years; hC1.\TE!Ver, he <br />would not CJRX>Se a grant the same as the current year. Mrs. Schtmlan pointed <br />out that city departments have been extremely careful in their budgeting, am <br />if these departments can hold the line, urns should be able to, also. Mr. <br />SchC>CJIOOr added that various kin:)s of records are available through urns, and <br />the groups or organizations that use those records should pay for them. Af- <br />ter extended discussion, it was decided the allcx:ation should be the same as <br />the current year--$46,500. Mayor Majerus asked Mr. Wagner to draft a letter <br />to urns with the suggestion that they follow the City's lead. in increasing <br />the fees they charge for various services. Mr. Schoaner said urns has also <br />provided a great deal of SUWOrt for the I.Dop I.anfiords Association. COUncil <br />accepted Mr. Wagner's offer to do an analysis of how UCRS might increase its <br />fees through services it perfonns for various groups. <br /> <br />4. Fax machine am phone line. It was estimated a suitable fax machine could <br />be purchased for $500 or less; a phone line is fran $25 to $40 a lOOnth. Mr. <br />Schoomer suggested the time saved in having a fax closer to the administra- <br />tive offices was 'WOrth the cost. <br /> <br />5. Arts am letters O:mni.ssion. Mr. Schoomer suggested this not be made a <br />line item, but if a project errerges that the ccmnission wishes to furrl, up to <br />$1,000 may be allcx:ated. All agreed. <br /> <br />6. street and sidewalk contractual. Mr. Schoaner said if sales tax collec- <br />tions increase or there is other additional revenue, this would be one of the <br />places to put it. <br /> <br />Items 7, 8, and 9 were discussed above.
