<br />SESSION 1563 <br /> <br />MINUI'ES OF '!HE UNIVERSITY' CITY CXXJNCIL <br /> <br />February 10, 1992 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University city held in the As- <br />sembly Roam of City Hall on MolXlay, February 10, 1992, Mayor Janet Majerus <br />presided am called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the <br />Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R.. Price <br />Mr. J<JSeIil L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mr.:RobertG.Wagner <br />Mrs. Miny V. Schuman <br />Mr. Paul E. Sch<:x::m3r* <br />Mrs. Betty L. '!harpson <br /> <br />*Mr. Schoaner arrived at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollerxiorff. <br />MINUI'ES <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the January 27, 1992 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Price seconded the motion, which carried unani.rrDusly. <br /> <br />OA'IH OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Ms. SUsan Gast, a new appointee to the Library Board, was given the oath of <br />office by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked Ms. Gast for her willi.n;p1ess to seJ:Ve, adding she be- <br />lieved Ms. Gast will find this an enjoyable am educational experience. <br /> <br />CITY MANU;F.R' S REroRI'S <br /> <br />SOLICITATION PERMIT REaJEST-MISSOORI GRCUP 'ID ALlEVIATE SM:>KING roLUJI'ION <br /> <br />'!he City Manager said the Missouri Group to Alleviate Smoking Pollution <br />(GASP) sul:Initted its first application for pennission to solicit in universi- <br />ty City. Five to ten members will go door-to-door fran March 16 to April 3, <br />1992, handing out literature and asking for donations in pursuit of their aim <br />of alleviating indoor air pollution caused by bun1ing tobacco. '!his item was <br />carried over fram the January 27 meeting, since COlll1Cilmembers wished to know <br />how lorg the group has been in existence am its administrative costs. Mr. <br />Ollerxiorff said the group advised him in writing that it was incorporated <br />September 16, 1985, am its administrative costs are essentially zero, since <br />it has no offices am is nm entirely by vollmteers. Its only costs have <br />been for printing and disseminating intornational materials. A representa- <br />tive was present to answer any additional questions. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval. Mr. Price seconded the motion, which carried unan- <br />imously. <br />
