Mr. Adams secon::led the m0- <br />tion, which carried unaninx:>usly. <br /> <br /><X>NSIDERATION OF BUS FOR 'lOl' ror <X>NSI'RUCI'ION <br /> <br />'!he City Manager said invitations to bid on constructirq a tot lot at East- <br />gate Park were sent to six contractors, with the followirq response: <br /> <br />Meilhaus Design, Inc. <br />Bliltbest Ente:rprises, Inc. <br /> <br />$12,990 <br />32,988 <br /> <br />Acceptance of the bid of $12,990 from Meilhaus Design, Inc. was reconunended. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Price secon::led the motion, which carried <br />unaninx:>usl y. <br /> <br />As Park Commission liaison, Mrs. Schuman noted that this project was designed <br />by a volunteer, a University City resident who is also a fine architect and <br />should be commended for his work. Mayor Majerus said volunteerism was one of <br />the reasons the City functions so well. <br /> <br />LICUOR LICENSE - 6335 DEIMAR/JAPANESE RESTAURANl' <br /> <br />'!he City Manager said an application was sul:anitted last July for a license to <br />sell beer and wine by the drink at retail at 6335 Delmar. He said the appli- <br />cant was advised at that time to return after the business had been in opera- <br />tion for some time, and the restaurant has now been open for several months. <br />It was recently detennined that the applicant has thirty years experience in <br />the restaurant business, the past three years as the owner of a st. louis <br />restaurant with a beer and wine license, durirq which time he was found to <br />have a clean record. He said Council may wish to approve this application. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval, with Mrs. Schuman secon::linJ the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer noted the absence of earlier infonration reqarding the appli- <br />cant's experience, addllq that in such cases there is often a shorter waitirq <br />period or even :i1nmediate approval. <br /> <br />In response to Mr. Adams, Mr. Ollen::lorff said the name on the license will be <br />Seki Corporation-Hiroshi seki, president, and Douglas Anders, secret.a1:y. <br />
