Regular Meeting <br />March 7, 2005 <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Welsch moved to reappoint Loretta Bryant to the Traffic Commission <br />for a second term ending January 21, 2008 and Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Next, Ms. Welsch moved to appoint Eleanor T. Mullin, 7162 Delmar Boulevard, to the <br />CALOP Commission to serve as the Charter approved voting member for a term ending <br />September 9, 2008. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Darlene Davison, 6325 McPherson Avenue, took the Oath of Office to serve on the <br />Historic Preservation Commission, for a term expiring September 9, 2009. <br /> <br />Robert Bernstein, 7324 Cornell Avenue, took the Oath of Office to serve on the Arts and <br />Letters Commission for a term expiring January 2, 2009. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked Ms. Davison and Mr. Bernstein for their service to the <br />community. <br /> <br />RESOLUTIONS <br /> <br />1. Urging the Continuation of the Community Development Block Grant Program <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt, Ms. Brot and Mr. Sharpe jointly moved to introduce a resolution urging the <br />continuation and expansion of the Community Development Black Grant Program under <br />the direction of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Mr. <br />Sharpe seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Opposition to the Elimination of the Community Reinvestment Act <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved to introduce a resolution stating that The City of University City <br />opposes the Office of Thrift Supervision’s proposal to eliminate Community <br />Reinvestment Act requirements for financial institutions to service and invest in <br />disadvantaged and low-income communities, and Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Agenda Item # 1 - CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff explained that the Agenda distributed last week inadvertently omitted <br />some items, so the official Agenda before the Council contains six items.
