Regular Meeting <br />March 7, 2005 <br /> <br /> <br />BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING <br /> <br />1. BILL NO. 8756: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT OF A TRACT OF <br />LAND TO BE KNOWS AS “501 NORTH JACKSON SUBDIVISION” AND <br />LOCATED AT 501 JACKSON. <br /> <br /> The Bill was given its second reading. <br /> The Bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved to remove this from the table and Ms. Welsch seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Eric Schmitt, 168 North Meramec, Suite 400, Clayton, MO 63105, an attorney <br />representing Miracle Design Build, came to report that an open house was held for the <br />neighbors and one neighbor attended. He said he would answer any questions. <br /> <br />Jay Levitch, 911 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63101, said he was an attorney <br />representing the Jackson neighbors. He explained the neighbor’s opposition to this <br />project. He said that this proposed development is in direct contradiction to the <br />subdivision indentures. <br /> <br />Karen LiPuma, 539 Jackson, repeated her deep seated opposition to this project and <br />disgust with the process. <br /> <br />Pamela Guillot, 7421 Teasdale Avenue, thought that anything put up there would be an <br />improvement. <br /> <br />Sandra Lowes, 7425 Teasdale Avenue, is opposed to the development and hopes that <br />more substance that can be enforced will be placed into the 2005 Comprehensive Plan <br />Update that Director Lehman Walker has been working on. <br /> <br />Brigitta Toth, 7416 Washington Avenue, is very much opposed to this development and <br />read a comment from Kay Drey requesting that the City Council respect the recorded <br />restrictive covenant of one home per lot. She reminded the Council that University City <br />is a community that values the unique character of its neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Michael Koby, 7426 Washington Avenue, expressed his deep dismay in the overall lack <br />of concern that the City Council is showing towards the neighbor’s opposition to this <br />development. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved adoption. Mr. Sharpe expressed his deep regret over this matter <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />
