Regular Meeting
March 28, 2005

premises access to heating and cooling systems, so if needed, a remote change could
be made from a distance. That is one feature; there may be more to it.

Ms. Brot’s third question related to “redoing the microphones” and asked if it is included
here or is someplace else? Mr. Ollendorff said it is not included and will be done
separately. Ms. Brot noted that the sound system should remain a high priority and Mr.
Ollendorff agreed.

Ms. Brot’s final question was about her request for moveable seats, like at Webster
Groves, so that the Council Chambers could be rented for special events, such as her
daughter’s engagement party. She asked the City Manager if he was still discussing
this with the architects and the contractors about it. He replied that this issue is still
pending further study and additional options and recommendations will be presented to
the Council, probably in the next few months. It is another item that is not included.
That decision could be made in the next two or three months after a report is submitted.

Ms. Brot moved that “we follow through with what we have suggested with the
understanding that the steps will be repaired as soon as possible.” Mr. Wagner said it
had already been moved and the Mayor confirmed it, as well. Mr. Wagner said there is
something Councilmember Brot said that he agreed with and it was her description of
the stairs in the front, with their appearance and their danger. He underscored the need
to emphasize their repair. He complimented the City Manager for his detailed answer
and then he called the question on the motion.

Mayor said “all those in favor of approving the contract for the repair of this magnificent
facility for the anniversary our City” and the vote carried unanimously.

Mr. Ollendorff thanked the Council for that vote and then reported that the first floor
Finance Department has completed their relocation to the 630 Trinity building, in the
lower level where the Senior Center used to be and said it will be the location of the
Finance Department from now until August. The second floor of City Hall will move in
the next ten days or so to the EOC Room and will include the City Clerk, the Mayor, the
Human Resources Department and the City Manager’s and the Assistant City
Manager’s offices until August, when the contractor will, hopefully, be finished with the
basement, first and second floor, and these offices can move back in. Then the third,
fourth and fifth floors will be relocated for a period of about three months. The City
Council meetings will continue in the Council Chambers until roughly the first part of
August; after that City Council meetings will have to be relocated. Meetings usually
held in the EOC room will be sent to other places for the next four months. He urged
citizens and Councilmembers to verify the location of meetings customarily held in the
EOC room, because they have been relocated.

Ms. Colquitt commented that at the last City Council meeting there was a Resolution
relating to Community Development Block Grants. Two weeks ago, she and the Mayor
Page 12
