Regular Meeting <br />April 11, 2005 <br /> <br /> <br />Agenda Item # 1 - CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> <br />Setting Public Hearing Date for 7580 Drexel Rezoning <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended setting May 2, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. as the time and place for <br />the public hearing in these Council Chambers on the proposed rezoning of 7580 Drexel <br />from SR single-family residence to LC limited commercial. The Plan Commission <br />recommends denial and there is substantial neighborhood opposition to this proposal, <br />however the City Council may only act on an application following a public hearing. <br /> <br />Furnish and Install Mobile Shelving System in the Police Department <br /> <br />Invitations to Bid were sent to four vendors. The following bids were received. <br /> <br /> Peterson Group...................................$19,875.00 <br /> Corporate Express................................$11,733.02 <br /> <br />The system proposed by Corporate Express had much less shelf capacity and therefore <br />did not meet the specifications. Corporate Express also could not remove existing <br />shelving and install carpet as required by specifications. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended award to Peterson Group for $19,875.00. <br /> <br />Fill the Helmet Day for Burns Recover Support Group <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended permission be given for personnel of the University <br />City Fire Department to collect donations in front of the Olive Boulevard Schnucks store <br />on May 7 & May 8, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Fill the Helmet Day has been a <br />tradition for many years. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the Consent Calendar, minus the two items removed, <br />and Mr., Wagner seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff reported that the first item removed concerned: <br /> <br />Contract for City’s Annual Audit <br /> <br />Hochschild, Bloom & Company, LLP has provided audit services for the City since <br />1999. A three-year contract extension which Hochschild & Bloom provided for $30,500 <br />per year expired this year. Hochschild Bloom proposes to offer the service for a three- <br />year cancelable term extension for the following costs. <br /> <br /> Audit Costs Proposed Per Year <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />
