SESSION 1726 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />JUNE 29, 1998 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber <br />of City Hall on Monday, June 29, 1998, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />EXCUSED ABSENCE: Mr. Larry Lieberman was excused. Also present was City <br />Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner said that the word NAY on page 9, second paragraph, should say AYE. <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the June 8, 1998 minutes, as amended. Mr. Sharpe <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams moved the appointment of Mr. Hardy Ware to the Industrial Development <br />Authority for an unexpired term ending August 27, 2001. Mr. Wagner seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />REAPPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved the reappointment of Mr. Rockwell Gray and Ms. Mary Ellen <br />Campbell to the Library Board for a three year term ending June 30, 2001. Mr. <br />Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - STATE UTILIZATION OF APRIL 1999 ELECTION DATE: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read a resolution stating that the City Council was opposed to the State's <br />use of the April 1999 election date for non-local issues. Ms. Meine, City Clerk, pointed <br />out that the word "purposed", paragraph number 6 should read "purpose". Mr. <br /> <br /> <br />
