Regular meeting <br />June 6, 2005 <br /> <br />OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES AS ENUMERATED HEREIN FROM AND <br />AFTER JUNE 29, 2005, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6484. <br /> <br />6. Mr. Sharpe introduced Bill Number 8795: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION TO BE PAID TO CERTAIN <br />CITY OFFICIALS ON DECEMBER 30, 2005. <br /> <br />7. Mr. Wagner introduced Bill Number 8796: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ISSUANCE, SALE AND <br />DELIVERY OF SPECIAL OBLIGATION BONDS, SERIES 2005, OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI; AND APPROVING CERTAIN DOCUMENTS AND <br />AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OTHER ACTIONS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that this bill is for the sale of sales tax backed bonds. This sale will <br />take place the date of our next Council meeting. Council will be asked to approve an <br />additional $700,000 towards the completion of the Recreation Facility in Heman Park. <br />Tonight, Council approved the City Hall bond issue and in three weeks Council will <br />approve an additional sale for the Recreation Facility, as well as taking final actions on <br />the various compensation bills. Mr. Ollendorff also pointed out that a bill requested by <br />Mr. Wagner and Ms. Brot has been prepared and came off of the copy machine about <br />fifteen minutes before the meeting this evening. It deals with the keeping of chickens. <br /> <br />8. Ms. Brot introduced Bill Number 8797: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.04 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO ANIMALS GERNERALLY, BY ENACTING <br />THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 6.04.025 CHICKENS - <br />PERMIT REQUIRED; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS: <br /> <br />Ms. Brot couldn’t find her bond bill just introduced. Mr. Ollendorff will make sure she <br />gets a copy. <br /> <br />th <br />Ms. Welsch asked the City Manager why the pay scales change on the 29 versus July <br />st <br />1, when the fiscal year begins. Mr. Ollendorff said it is done this way in order to have <br />complete pay period. He explained that they usually go with the pay period leading up <br />to the first payday in July. <br /> <br />Ms. Brungardt said that in the weekly packets, there was a memo from Mr. Ollendorff <br />regarding the Centennial celebration and photos of the City Council.
