RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is the recommendation of the Public Works Department that this project be awarded to <br />St. Louis Concrete for their low bid of $101,586.20, and for the two optional years, as <br />well. St. Louis Concrete has not performed any prior work for University City. The City <br />has previous experience with Williams Concrete, Midwest Mudjacking, Tramar <br />Contracting and Amcon. <br />The lowest bidder is not minority or female owned. The surety company for St. Louis <br />Concrete, which is C.N.A Surety, has an A.M. Best rating of “A” Excellent. References <br />from the National Parks Service for concrete sidewalk work on the St. Louis Arch <br />Grounds and from the City of Country Club Hills for concrete sidewalks work were <br />favorable. The concrete supplier, Valley Ready Mix, indicated St. Louis Concrete had no <br />outstanding bills and had a prompt payment history. <br /> <br />
