The 10 K begins at <br />7:30 AM, the 5 K begins at 9:00 AM and the one-mile Fun Runs begin at 10:00 AM (for <br />older children) and 10:15 AM (for kids nine and younger). Professionally trained weatherization crews <br />perform on-site home energy audits using state of the art equipment to identify outside <br />drafts and inspect heating and cooling systems for efficiency. Weatherization crews <br />install insulation, seal off air leaks, make modifications to (or replace) existing heating <br />systems and make minor repairs to ensure safety. Once installed, these energy saving <br />measures will help to reduce your heating and cooling costs for years to come. The seminar is geared towards small businesses, local <br />governments, and non-profit organizations, and will feature presentations from federal <br />granting agencies followed by a grant research and writing workshop conducted by <br />UMSL faculty in the afternoon. St. Louis Help will be accepting donations of manual and power <br />wheelchairs, scooters, canes, crutches, walkers, shower chairs, grab bars, elevated <br />toilet seats, portable commodes, lift chairs, seating cushions, back supports, ramps, <br />stair lifts – nearly every type of home medical equipment. St. Louis receives tax – <br />deductible donations of new or previously owned medical devices from the community. <br />The items are refurbished, cleaned, and loaned to individuals in need, at no cost, for as <br />long as necessary.
