Their plan is to incorporated ideas showing that the future of cities lies in a
deeper understanding of the changing values and evolving human needs which affects the
marketplace, driving toward new solutions.
Suttle and Mindlin’s expression in presentation was:
What does it mean to strive for sustainability, connectivity and a higher quality of
life?
A new definition of success for a changing world.
Goal is to achieve a higher level of expression and a more intimate relationship to
the street.
Destination and revitalization is possible.
Being creative in use of big box retailing is a better way to plan for anchor tenants.
Design to reinforce the street and make great urban rooms.
A place you could live a richer life…right on “main street”.
A vision to organize cities and provide a secure and sustainable foundation as in
educational, medical and corporate campuses. Combine this with world class parks
and infrastructure, making the cities more livable and a regional destination.
Understand what is driving the real estate market.
By jointly working together, strength can be gained by each community’s unique
qualities…complement each other’s offerings.
Suttle-Mindlin stated that each City is in control of its own vision and instead of doing an
RFP, each city should do a RFQ.
