The last paavement ratinng was completed in 20008. By docuumenting thee actual <br />conditionns of the pavvement, Public Works is able to deveelop its mainntenance budget, make <br />repairsaand use cost--effective maaintenancepprocedures. Public Worrks performss micro-surfaacing <br />on streetts that have a rating of 66 or above too cost-effectiively extend the life of thhe street. <br />On May 226, 2009, the City openeed bids for thhe annual mmicro-surfacinng project. TThere are onnly <br />two comppanies that pperform micrrosurfacingwwork in the mmetropolitann area. The contract allows tthe City to usse the two ooptional yearrs, but does not commit the <br />City to thhose years.Multi-yearccontracts maay be continuued each fisccal year afteer each year’’s <br />budget have been appproved by tthe City Couuncil. <br />Micro-Suurfacing Inc. has performmed work acccording to thhe City’s speecifications dduring the lasst <br />three yeaars. The firmm is not a miinority business enterprise. Womenn and minoritties represent 8% <br />of the tottal workforcee. Micro-Surrfacing, Inc. has an A.M.
