3. Mr. Glickert asked about the possibility of using the money allocated in the CDBG
Grant for scholarships would be better used for code enforcement. He asked the
City Manager to provide a report as to the use of scholarships in previous years.
Ms. Feier stated that the money given for CDBG goes into the General Fund and if
code enforcement involves more that what was designated by the CDBG grant the
remaining amount would just come from the General Fund. The same would be
true of the scholarships. If more scholarships were received than allocated by the
CDBG grant, the additional money would come from the General Fund.
4. Mr. Sharpe asked if money from the CDBG grant could be used for George Street
as it sidewalks and street were deplorable. It was stated the George Street was an
unimproved street.
5. Mr. Price asked if $1,300 from the $20,000 allocated in FY10 to be used for
“Distination U.City” could be used at the U.City alumni event. A second was not
made. Some Councilmembers asked to have more information on the event and
how it would achieve the “Destination U.City” intent.
The actual review of the Council’s Strategic Planning, Goals and Objectives lack time to be
discussed.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
Submitted by
Joyce Pumm, City Clerk
