Saturday, October 10 at 7 PM the Parks Foundation, the Historical Society of University <br />celebrationof the 100 Year <br />City and the City will host an evening at City Hall in <br />Birthday of the Lions <br /> at the Gates of Opportunity in the Civic Plaza. At the party, the <br />“Roaring Lions of University City” will be auctioned off to establish a permanent fund for <br />the care and maintenance of the Lion’s Gates. The search light will be lit in honor of the <br />Lions. Tickets are $25 for the party, which will include entertainment, food, and an <br />opportunity to meet the artists who decorated the lions and see the birthday banner <br />cards from area cities. For tickets, contact Judy Prange at 721-7401. <br />On Monday, October 19 at 5:30 PM, the City Council will meet in the EOC Room for a <br />City’s deficit and first quarter budget amendment. <br />study session on the <br />U. City High School’s 2009 Hall of Fame Induction <br />The Celebration will be on Friday, <br />October 23, 6:00 – 10:00 pm, Crown Plaza-Clayton. Our very own Captain Carol <br />Jackson is one of the inductees. Dinner cost $75 per person. All paid reservations are <br />due by Wednesday, October 14.
