Session 1682, Minutes <br />November 4, 1996 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended acceptance of the low bid of $5,470 from Aalco Wrecking Co. to de- <br />molish 7241 Melrose, and the low bid of $5,600 from Railroad Removal and Salvage, Inc. to demolish <br />6543 Crest. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson moved approval, and Mr. Ware seconded the motion. <br /> <br />In response to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff said these houses are in the Northeast Rehabilitation Area. <br /> <br />All voted Aye. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL REPORT <br /> <br />The Personnel report for the week ending October 26, 1996, was received and ordered filed. <br /> <br />BILL FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8300 - AMENDING CHAPTER 25 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO RETIREMENT <br />AND PENSIONS BY REPEALING SECTION 25-21 AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 25-21. RETIREMENT BENEFITS GENERALLY-- <br />SCHEDULE," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE BENEFITS BY <br />TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00) PER MONTH, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1997. <br />Bill No. 8300 was given its second reading. <br /> <br />Bill No. 8300 was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Ware seconded. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Coun- <br />cilmembers Ware, Munkel, Lieberman, Schoomer, Thompson, and Mayor Adams. NAYS: None. AB- <br />SENT: Councilmember Wagner. Bill No. 8300 became Ordinance No. 6082. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8301 - ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL TAX ON THE REAL PROPERTY OF THE <br />PARKVIEW GARDENS SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT OF EIGHTY-FIVE CENTS ($.85) PER <br />ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) ASSESSED VALUATION FOR FISCAL 1996-97; CON- <br />TAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE. <br />A bill was introduced by Councilmember Schoomer, entitled: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AN ADDITIONAL TAX FOR THE PARKVIEW GARDENS <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT SO THAT THE ADDITIONAL TAX ON THE REAL PROPERTY <br />FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1996-97 SHALL BE EIGHTY-FIVE CENTS ($.85) PER ONE HUNDRED <br />DOLLARS ($100.00) AS SE S SED VALUATION; CONTAINING AN EMERGENCY CLAUSE." <br /> <br /> <br />
