<br /> <br />2. <br />Annual salt contract <br />Contract was awarded to a Salt Cooperative group comprised of 40 local <br />municipalities for the 2009 – 2010 season for $46.31 per ton, estimated to use <br />800 tons for a total cost of $37,048. <br />3. <br />City website redesign and Ruth Park Golf Course website integration <br />Civic Plus is integrating the external Ruth Park Golf course website into the City’s <br />main website and agreed to update the present City website for a reduced cost of <br />$5,786. <br />4. <br />Bulk leaf collection contractor <br />Private contractors are used to supplement the City’s efforts in collection. <br />Recommendation was to use Hendel Landscaping at $155 per hour in 2009, and <br />optional years at $165 per hour in 2010 and $165 per hour in 2011, for seventy- <br />five percent of the pick-up, not to exceed $49,725 and Complete Curbside for <br />twenty-five percent of the pick-up with rates of $164.75 per hour in 2009, $174.74 <br />per hour in 2010 and $183.50 per hour in 2011, not to exceed $16,575. <br /> <br />The consent calendar was moved for approval by Mr. Price, seconded by Mr. <br />Wagner and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />I. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br />1. <br />Delmar Loop Planet Walk Project <br />The Economic Development Commission on August 17, 2009, approved $10,000 <br />for the Planet Walk project with the City of St. Louis to contribute the other <br />$10,000. The project consists of nine signs which will depict the solar system, <br />which will be located throughout the Loop. The Loop Special Business District <br />will be responsible for the maintenance of the signs. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci said she was at the meeting and found the signs very intriguing and felt <br />it would be a good thing. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Joe Edwards, 6504 Delmar <br />Mr. Edwards was present with Steven Walker who came up with the idea and <br />spent several years redesigning it. It is similar to the Walk of fame in that it won’t <br />cost University City any money to maintain it, secondly it is an educational project <br />and thirdly it is another unifying project of the Loop encouraging one to walk from <br />end of the Loop to the other. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert asked Mr. Edwards if he could insure University City that the City of <br />St. Louis would appropriate their share. Mr. Edwards stated that there was a <br />th <br />safety net and Lyda Krewson from the 28 ward was getting the funds approved. <br />He stated that the East Loop, Parkview Gardens Business District also approved <br />to put the money up front if the City would back out. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved for approval, seconded by Mr. Crow and was unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
